The College Board offers four distinct AP Physics exams, each covering different content at different mathematical levels. At UniQ Prep in Edison, Piscataway, South Plainfield, NJ & Online, our 10-week intensive AP Physics exam prep course covers all four AP Physics levels, allowing students to prepare for one or multiple exams depending on their course enrollment and goals. Whether you are taking algebra-based or calculus-based physics, our expert instructors will give you the targeted review, practice, and strategies you need to score a 4 or 5.

AP Physics 1: Algebra-Based

AP Physics 1 is an algebra-based course covering the foundational principles of mechanics, waves, and sound. This is typically the first AP Physics exam students take, and it emphasizes conceptual understanding alongside mathematical problem-solving. The AP Physics 1 exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 90 minutes and 5 free-response questions to be completed in 90 minutes. Free-response questions include experimental design, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and paragraph-length argument questions. Our prep course reviews all core topics including kinematics, Newton's laws, work and energy, momentum, rotational motion, simple harmonic motion, and mechanical waves.

AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based

AP Physics 2 is the continuation of the algebra-based physics sequence, covering topics beyond mechanics. This exam tests students on fluids, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics including atomic and nuclear physics. The AP Physics 2 exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 90 minutes and 4 free-response questions to be completed in 90 minutes. Like Physics 1, the free-response section requires students to design experiments, analyze data, and construct coherent scientific arguments. Our instructors help students build a strong conceptual framework for these often abstract topics, with emphasis on the connections between electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetic phenomena.

AP Physics C: Mechanics

AP Physics C: Mechanics is a calculus-based course that covers mechanics at a deeper mathematical level than Physics 1. Students are expected to apply differential and integral calculus to solve physics problems. The exam is shorter but more intense: 35 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes and 3 free-response questions in 45 minutes. Topics include kinematics, Newton's laws, work, energy, power, systems of particles, linear momentum, circular motion, rotation, oscillations, and gravitation. Our prep course helps students master the integration of calculus with physical concepts, practice under tight time constraints, and develop efficient problem-solving techniques for both sections of the exam.

AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism

AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism (E&M) is the second calculus-based physics exam, covering electrostatics, conductors, capacitors, dielectrics, electric circuits, magnetic fields, and electromagnetism. The exam format mirrors Physics C: Mechanics with 35 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes and 3 free-response questions in 45 minutes. Many students take both Physics C exams on the same day, as they are offered in consecutive sessions. Our course prepares students for the mathematical rigor of E&M problems, including applying Gauss's law, Ampere's law, and Faraday's law through calculus-based derivations and applications.

Prepare for One or Multiple AP Physics Exams

At UniQ Prep, we understand that students come to AP Physics exam prep with different needs. Some students are preparing for just AP Physics 1, while others need to prepare for both Physics C exams simultaneously. Our 10-week program is flexible enough to accommodate all scenarios. During enrollment, students select which exam or exams they are preparing for, and our instructors tailor the review sessions accordingly. Students preparing for multiple exams receive guidance on managing their study time across different content areas.

The UniQ Prep Approach

Our AP Physics exam prep is built on four pillars. First, we conduct a targeted review of the specific content for each exam level, focusing on the concepts and problem types that appear most frequently. Second, students work through extensive practice problems drawn from actual AP exam questions and high-quality AP-style materials. Third, we teach formula sheet mastery, helping students learn how to quickly locate and apply the equations provided on the AP Physics formula sheets rather than relying on memorization alone. Fourth, our instructors dedicate focused sessions to lab-based question strategies, teaching students how to design experiments, analyze data, identify error sources, and connect results to physical principles. Time management and question triage techniques round out our comprehensive approach.

May 2026 AP Physics Exams

All AP Physics exams are scheduled for May 2026, as determined by the College Board. The Physics C: Mechanics and Physics C: E&M exams are offered on the same day in consecutive sessions. Our 10-week prep course is timed to conclude just before the exam dates, ensuring students are fully prepared and confident heading into test day.
