UniQ Prep’s mentorship program connects college students and recent graduates with high school students navigating the college admissions process. As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to share your firsthand college experience, provide invaluable guidance, and help shape the future of the next generation of students in Edison, Piscataway, South Plainfield, NJ & Online and beyond.

Our mentors play a critical role in making the college admissions journey less stressful and more successful for high school students. Whether you attended a local university or an out-of-state institution, your insights and experience can make a real difference in a young person’s life.

Who Can Be a Mentor?

We welcome applications from current college students and recent graduates from accredited universities who are passionate about education and helping younger students succeed. If you remember the challenges of applying to college and wish someone had guided you through the process, this program is for you.

What Mentors Do

• Meet regularly with mentees, either virtually or in-person at our Edison, NJ location
• Share your college experience, insights, and advice
• Help mentees craft compelling application essays
• Assist with college applications and the overall admissions process
• Provide guidance on extracurricular activities and course selection
• Offer interview preparation tips and practice sessions
• Serve as a trusted resource and role model throughout the admissions journey

Requirements

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Commit to at least one full semester of mentorship
• Attend a mandatory orientation session before being matched with a mentee
• A background check may be required prior to working with students
